WE NEED YOUR HELP
We are tremendously blessed as we pray and wait for God to provide the finances for our service in Mibu each month. Currently (March 2012) our regular monthly support is about $2000 less than what is recommended for our family to minister most effectively in a remote place such as Mibu. While God has been so so faithful to provide for our needs each month, we want to put the need out there.
After taking some time to familiarize yourself with the Mibu Ministry, would you prayerfully consider becoming a regular financial partner to help finish the task of church planting in Mibu?
Then check out https://www.ntm.org/give/1089 to see how you can make either one time or regular monthly donations specifically to benefit the Mibu ministry.
Or if you prefer to write a check, you can send a check, written out to New Tribes Mission, with the note, "Geoff and Shannon Husa" written in the memo, to the following address.
New Tribes Mission
1000 E. First St.
Sanford, FL 32771
With either method you will receive a tax deductible receipt for your donation.
TRANSLATION FUND STARTED
(March 2012)
Recently we started a new fund for folks who want to give specifically for the task of Bible translation in Mibu. Your tax-deductible donations designated for this purpose will be used for things such as printing of translated materials, including bible lessons. The funds will also be used to help with costs of getting the translated material checked and approved by our translation consultants. And finally the funds will go toward the costs of furthering Geoff's skills as a translator, including workshops and translation tools such as books and commentaries as needed.
If you're interested in giving specifically for the task of getting God's word into the hands of the Mibu people, follow the instructions above for mailing a check, and then be sure to put "Husa - Translation" in the memo so the funds are correctly allocated!
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
(March 2012)
Back in December, the beginning of something really exciting happened. The Mibu community decided that they wanted to refresh their efforts to see an airstrip completed nearby. This airstrip will be a huge benefit to the Mibu people as well as for us. The Mibus grow both coffee and oranges in huge quantities. Right now with no airstrip much of their hard work goes to waste as they often are underpaid or worse, not paid at all, for their coffee each harvest! And nobody is buying their oranges (except us :) because the logistics make it impossible. This airstrip can help with that. We estimate that for us an airstrip could reduce our expenses by about $600 a month!
As members of the community in Mibu, we've agreed to provide some help with seeing this airstrip completed. We will provide the much needed guidance and direction for the project, as well as some needed hand tools (no heavy machinery out here) and logistical expenses and such so that all can be in place to see the airstrip finally approved and functioning. While we provide guidance and some financial help, the Mibu folks will do much of the labor. All in all we estimate about 2 years time and $10,000 to see the airstrip complete.
Would you like to be a part of helping with the Mibu airstrip? Please send your tax deductible donations to the address at the top of this page, with "Husa - Mibu Airstrip" in the memo line.
